Rolling stock fleet

Warsaw Commuter Railway Ltd (WKD) operates the rolling stock fleet including three types of electric multiple units:

  1. Electric train sets series EN94 (type 101Na) – 20 rail vehicles (July 2014)
    Electric train sets series EN94 were manufactured in 1972 in Wroclaw by “PAFAWAG” company.
    They are 28 m in length, and the total number of available places amounts to 260 (meeting the standard of 5 people per square meter), including 80 seats. The rail vehicle is adapted exclusively to the direct current voltage of 600V.
  2. Electric train set series EN95 (type 13WE) – 1 rail vehicle.
    The electric train set series EN95 was manufactured by Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz S.A. [joint-stock company] and delivered to the registered office of the Company in 2004. The purchase of the rail vehicle was co-financed by the Government for Mazovian Voivodeship.
    In 2007 the ownership title for the rail vehicle was assigned to the WKD Company.
    The rail vehicle is 60 m in length. The total number of places amounts to 500 (meeting the standard of 5 people per square meter), including 150 seats. The rail vehicle is adapted exclusively to the direct current voltage of 600V.
  3. Electric train sets series EN97 (type 33WE) – 14 rail vehicles.

Electric train sets series EN97 were manufactured by Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz S.A. [joint-stock company] and delivered in 2011 - 2012 to the registered office of the Company under the agreement concluded on 26 March 2010. The last of the rail vehicles was delivered to the Company on 30 September 2012.

The rail vehicles of the series EN97 consist of the two separate units including triple identical segments, equipped with the driver’s cab at one end and the steering desk at the other end, which enables for the detachment of the two triple segments of the rail vehicle and independent manoeuvre operations.

The rail vehicle is 60 m in length. The total number of places amounts to 500 (meeting the standard of 5 people per square meter), including 124 seats. The rail vehicle is adapted exclusively to the direct current voltage of 600V and after rewiring - to the direct current voltage of 3000V.
